Hair Accessories for the Win

Hair accessories are the best! They can be subtle little accents to totally elevate your entire outfit. I have gone from super long hair, to dyeing my ends blue, to purple, then chopping it all the way up to my shoulders, then bleaching my ends and dyeing them pink, then cutting my hair again and dyeing the ends a silver blonde and now I have blonde tips and box highlights. So obviously I like to play around with my hair. One way I do that is through my hair accessories.

I have bought mostly all of my hair accessories from Francescas or Anthropolgie, and from writing this blog post I discovered Urban Outfitters also has killer hair accessories. In this post I'll share my favorite hair accessories and where to find them!

Let’s start with hair clips. These are my favorite hair accessories! They're cool because you can use them to put your hair in a fancy updo or throw your hair up when you haven't washed it in three days.

This super cute long, glittery pink, clip from Urban Outfitters is great! It comes in blue and silver too, and is $12. I was actually researching hair clips for this post when I found this one and I ordered it! It was too cute to pass up, and it has quickly became one of my favorites. It's such a show stopper because of how sparkly it is. It is also a long clip so it holds my hair nice and tight and is very secure.

Anthropologie also sells great hair clips. You get three average sized clips and Anthro offers them in tons of different colors. I have this pack for $18, which comes to $6 a clip, and my favorite is the matte white clip. Anthro also offers this clip pack for $24 and I love the shape! Anthropologie clips are good quality and I like them because they are offered in different colors, shapes, and sizes including minis if you have shorter hair.

This pink flower clip from Francesscas is the cutest clip ever! I love the yellow and pale pink, and this clip is my absolute favorite! It's just so sweet! I also bought it in both purple and teal because I loved how fun it was. I like how understated but different it is. Its not too flashy but still something special. It’s $14 but Francescas always has great sales on their clothing and accessories. You most likely can get this clip for even less because of some sale going on.

I also got these great mini clips from Urban outfitters for only 5 dollars! These are fun for doing those 90s hair dos with like 5 little pieces of your hair sectioned back so it almost looks like a crown. I have tried to do it like four times and can't get it right but its nice to have the clips to do it if I want. I use these to clip back a few pieces of my hair so I can wear my hair down but not in my face.

Pony scarves are so adorable and make me feel like I'm vintage and classy. I like how ponytail scarves can make it look like you tied a ribbon perfectly around your hair.

Anthro has some of the best pony scarves and they come in tons of prints. What's great is that they sell them in pairs and most of them come with some variation of a white one or more neutral one, and then the other is kinda crazy. This pair is $24 and I am obsessed with the print and how classy its looks!

I style these two ways. One is with my hair half up-half down. I put one around the small pony and let the scarf hang down with the rest of my hair. Another way is around a high pony. Both look cute and effortless.

Teleties are one of my favorite hair accessories. You know the plastic looking twisty hair ties that have recently been super popular? Well Teleties sells this type of hair elastics and I am obsessed! They come in plenty of cute sets like this rainbow glitter pack I have and they offer three different sizes and lots of cute packs!

I can style my hair in a loose messy bun that stays up and secure without that awful headache you get from your classic hair elastic. My sister also has thinner hair and finds that these don't make her hair look as flat as other ponytail holders do.

You can definitely find hair ties like Teleties in Walmart or Old Navy. I found this pack of 10 from Francescas for only $14 but found that the quality is not as good as Teleties. I had two that snapped which was a bummer but at the same time I did not pay as much had I bought ten of the better quality.

I am always cutting or dying my hair and I like to mix it up with how I style my hair. But I am not someone who has the patience to straighten my hair each morning or blow dry it daily so I wear my hair up a lot. Or when I wear it down I don't like it being all over my face. It's nice to be able to style my hair in plenty of different ways so it doesn't get boring. All these accessories I just talked about are versatile and are my go tos for their for how simple they are to use. They all can elevate your hair to a new level!
