The Sponge That Changed The Game

The Beautyblender. It's this weird egg shaped sponge that no one thought they needed. And now it is the only foundation applicator you need in your collection.
The thing that makes a beautyblender a beautyblender is it's signature shape. The sponge is round at the bottom and then goes into a point at the top. All you need to do is (1) wet it (2) apply your foundation to your face and then (3) blend it out with the sponge for a flawless finish. I mean, come on, the way the sponge is able to make any foundation look so good is a miracle.
It definitely did not win the Allure Best of Beauty Award for being okay.
The blender comes in tons of different colors. On the site (https://beautyblender.com) they have their original hot pink shade, black, nude, and yellow. That's just to name a few of the 20 different options. They also just released a hypothermic Beautyblender that is supposed to change from pink to blue when wet with hot water. That's definitely an interesting concept. Additionally, they are always releasing new colors and around holidays they even put limited addition colors in mystery boxes. You buy a box and when you open it up you get one of the limited edition sponges. It makes for a very cute gift.

They sell for $20 so it is a bit much to spend on a beauty sponge but I'm telling you the Beautyblender will make any okay makeup job ICONIC. I know there are knock-off sponges all over but none of them can even begin to compare to the Beautyblender. When I use the Beautyblender with my foundation I find that it does not waste too much foundation which I like. Some of the denser knock-offs can absorb too much product, hence, wasting your foundation.
Now the company has released cleansers, a highlighter, a setting spray, primers, concealer, and the foundation. I have the Bounce foundation and it's very good, extremely full coverage but, at the same time very buildable. But I wish that instead of releasing all these new products they would release the sponge but on a brush. I saw that they have brushes that have a cooling roller ball at the end which is a good idea. But, I would like to see more with the trademarked sponge. Granted I have never tried their other products besides the foundation, I just think the company has a special product with the sponge.
They offer different sized sponges for different purposes, one being for blush, the other very small size for undereye concealer. The small one can also be used to apply cream eyeshadows without having to dirty a brush or use your fingers. There are also many other uses for the original blender. You can use it to apply moisturizer, your skincare creams, and self tanner, for an even layer that really absorbs onto your skin.
Although my makeup favorites rotate on the daily, this sponge remains a constant. I love everything about it. The size is perfect, the colors are vibrant, and the sponge material is sturdy and does not wear out too fast.
Okay to sum up all of the above, I love this sponge, I'm okay with the price, and I want to see more from Beautyblender using that sponge technology. If you were on the fence about purchasing, go for it. If you have dupe get the original. I love mine and bet that you'll love yours.
